Great question. The smallest standard urban bench we make for a balcony is our Micro-Line Bench at 23.6 inches wide (60 cm), 15.7 inches deep (40 cm), and 17.7 inches high (45 cm) at the seat. Overall height with the backrest is 29.5 inches (75 cm). If you count custom orders, we can go down to 19.7 inches wide (50 cm) for a really snug balcony niche.
That size is tight enough for a Juliet balcony or a narrow apartment terrace, but still gives one adult a proper place to sit rather than perching on a stool. The frame is powder-coated steel and the seat is made from three FSC-certified teak slats, so it has an urban street-furniture look scaled down for residential use.
If your balcony is under about 30 inches wide, the custom 19.7-inch version usually works better. It’s essentially the same bench with one slat removed and slightly shorter feet. Most people choose the 23.6-inch standard size because it balances comfort and footprint.
A few things worth checking before you order: door swing clearance, railing height, and whether you need space for planters or a small side table. For balcony seating that doesn’t crowd your door or railing, this is the size most people end up choosing. With a bench this compact, you can still pair it with a single bistro table and have enough room to move around.
