Short answer: no. Our standard outdoor benches are not designed to deter sleeping. We build them for normal sitting, durability, and easy maintenance. We don't add anti-sleeping features like steep slopes, raised ridges, or narrow slats unless a client specifically requests a divided bench or extra armrests.
That said, we understand why the question comes up. Some cities, transit authorities, and private property owners ask for center armrests or individual seat dividers because they want to manage how long people stay or discourage lying down. We can supply those options, but we don't label them as hostile architecture. It's more about matching the bench to the space: a busy transit platform needs different seating than a quiet neighborhood park.
For most of our catalog, comfort is the priority. We use a seat height and depth that work for a wide range of body types, with smooth edges and materials that resist weather, rust, and vandalism. If you're looking for a bench that is comfortable for sitting but not inviting for overnight sleeping, we usually suggest a bench with a center armrest or individual seats. The bench still looks welcoming, but it changes how the surface can be used.
We're always happy to talk through the pros and cons before you buy, because public seating is about more than hardware. It's about who feels welcome in a space, and that matters to us.
