Great question—and one we get a lot from landscape architects, city planners, and sustainability consultants. The short answer is yes, many of our urban benches are available with recognized eco-friendly certifications, but transparency matters more than a single label.
For timber benches, we use FSC-certified hardwoods. That means the wood is traceable through a chain-of-custody system to responsibly managed forests. You'll see the FSC mark on our oak, ash, and thermally modified wood options where specified.
On the Cradle to Cradle side, we don't slap the certification on every product because full certification is product-specific and expensive to maintain across a wide range. However, our steel and aluminum benches are designed using Cradle to Cradle principles: materials are selected for recyclability, finishes are low-VOC powder coating, and components can be separated at end of life for reuse or recycling. Some of our recycled HDPE benches carry third-party verified recycled content and can contribute to LEED, SITES, or BREEAM credits.
If your project requires a specific certificate, tell us early. We can provide FSC chain-of-custody documents, material health statements, recycled content reports, and in some cases full Cradle to Cradle certificates for selected product lines. We'd rather give you honest documentation than greenwash.
