The short answer is that our standard warranty covers manufacturing defects and workmanship issues, but it does not cover vandalism or general wear and tear. Those are considered outside normal use or part of the expected life cycle of outdoor furniture.
Let me explain what that means in practice.
Under our standard street bench warranty, we cover things like defective welds, cracked frames, faulty fasteners, delaminating recycled plastic slats, or powder coating failures that occur under normal conditions. If a bench arrives with a defect or develops a structural problem because of how it was made, we will repair or replace it according to the warranty terms.
General wear and tear is not covered. Outdoor benches live outside, so they will experience UV exposure, temperature swings, rain, snow, salt air, and regular use. Over time you may see fading, light surface scratches, minor scuffs, or slight movement in fasteners. These are expected and are not defects. That said, we design our benches to hold up well under those conditions, and routine maintenance will help extend their life.
Vandalism is also not covered under the standard warranty. If someone deliberately carves into the seat, cuts slats, bends the frame, removes hardware, or covers the bench in graffiti, that damage is caused by intentional misuse rather than a manufacturing issue. However, we do offer several ways to reduce that risk. We can recommend anti-graffiti coatings, tamper-resistant hardware, heavier-gauge steel or aluminum options, and recycled plastic slats that resist carving and scratching better than wood in many settings.
Some customers also ask about optional protection programs. While we do not offer a warranty that specifically pays for vandalism repair as standard, we can discuss extended service plans or maintenance contracts depending on the size of your project. These are often the best fit for parks, transit stops, campuses, and other high-traffic public spaces.
