With some DIY experience and a second pair of hands, many of our simpler two-seat benches go together in about 15 to 20 minutes. If you’re working alone or it’s your first time, 30 to 45 minutes is a more realistic range. The biggest factor is the bench style. A standard garden bench with pre-assembled seat panels takes less time than a storage bench or a curved-back design with more brackets and bolts. Every order includes a printed manual and all the hardware you need. Most models only require a Phillips screwdriver and the included hex key. A cordless drill with a hex bit can make the job even faster, but keep the torque low so you do not strip the holes. A few tips help a lot. Lay out all the parts and hardware before you start. Leave the bolts slightly loose until the frame is aligned, then tighten everything evenly. If you can, have someone hold the side panels while you attach the seat and back. It is not difficult, but an extra set of hands really speeds things up. Overall, assembling our outdoor benches is closer to flat-pack furniture than carpentry.
